Announcing Our March Caregiver of the Month, Mindy R.

Mindy is a grandmother who cares for her three grandchildren, each of which have special needs. Mindy took full guardianship of the three girls when they were still toddlers.

Just getting ready to enjoy her life as a retired special education teacher, Mindy received the devastating news that her three grandchildren being placed in the foster care system due to neglect from their mother, Mindy’s daughter.

Mindy, not known to turn away from adversity, recently initiated the “Grandparent Support Group” in collaboration with the “Pathways” program at the Collaboration Center Foundation Disability Network.
